Little Goldie is a little princess. She is very responsive to training and loves, loves, loves treats and doesn't mind doing a little work to earn them. Her handler, SPCA volunteer Kristen, had a ton of fun helping Goldie learn the in's and out's of clicker training, and our little Goldie caught on quickly! She's doing great working close to the other dogs, but doesn't like them in her personal space. I hope to get some great pictures of her soon so check back weekly!

Goldie tuckered out quick tonight! After our walking exercises all she wanted to do was lay down and sleep! She is doing very well working around the other dogs, which is a big improvement to her behavior when she first came to the SPCA. She is so delicate taking treats from your hand and really loves clicker training. Hopefully we will build some stamina in this girl over the next few weeks!
Goldie is such a talented dog! She already knows sit, paw and down. I found out tonight that she even knows how to roll over! She is highly motivated by treats which makes class much easier. Walking with all the dogs around is a bit distracting for Goldie but with some more work I'm sure she can tackle that challenge too. This girl is a sweetheart and GREAT in the car.
Goldie was again a great dog in training class this week. She really starting getting the hang of "stay" and "down" is becoming her favorite command! She likes to chill and relax in class, especially after all the "heel" work we did this week! She is so full of love and just aims to please. She isn't a fan of her doggie counterparts in class but is able to work around them as long as they don't get TOO close :) Gotta love Goldie!
Goldie and I just got back from Outreach at PetKraze in Aston and she was wonderful! Goldie had fun showing off all of her new tricks for all the people who stopped to pet her (she did them like a pro!). Everyone remarked at how well behaved she was. She was very calm the entire time except for a few instances when one of the other dogs walked too close but it was pretty simple to regain her focus (a treat or two did the trick!). Goldie loved all the kids who came to pet her and even sent one boy home with a bath of kisses!
