Chase

Chase came to training and finally came out of his shell. He is so happy to get out of the SPCA, where he is reserved and scared all the time. A volunteer, his foster mom and handler Kendall is really stepping up to the plate for him so he can find a great home. At training class he caught on quickly to clicker training, but just wanted more to be pet and to play. Check back weekly for updates about how he's doing with Kendall in foster care and his training progress.

Chase got a bath today! He was a little petrified at first but he quickly calmed down and was great! He seems a lot more tired and worn out today because he walked all over the school's campus yesterday! I have gotten tons of compliments from people walking by and people that ask to pet him and they all tell me what a wonderful and great dog Chase is. I have only heard him bark once so far and that was when the UPS man came. He also has mastered sit and paw, but we are going to continue to work on more tricks. He is just a totally different dog now and runs up to everyone to say hello!

Today I took Chase to the fountain at school and he JUMPED into it! He absolutely loved the water. He is loved by everyone on campus and people have asked me if they could take pictures of him on their phones several different times. I have played around with his food while he eats and he is not food aggressive in the least. Also, we went on a late night walk last night and apparently drunk people think it is ok to run up to a dog and just start petting him all over, but Chase was great! He ran up to them too!

Chase did so well at class tonight. He's doing great in foster care and is a shining star in class. He's so smart and loves treats and will do just about anything to be told he's a "good boy!". This jem is amazing around the other dogs, likes to swim and is as smart as any dog I've ever met!

So Chase is back at the SPCA since his foster mom had to move home for the summer, but he's being worked with every day and still coming to training with Kendall. He loves class, and is by far the BEST dog at "heeling" and walking nicely on the leash. He likes to jump and play when we are trying to be serious- this Chase is quite a character! Down and stay are no problem either- adopt this well trained, smart boy!

Chase is back at his foster home with me! He is fully crate-trained now and we just went to a dog park the other day for the first time! He was with 5 other dogs and got along with everyone! He also came to the horse stables with me and saw horses for the first time. Surprisingly, he didn't bark and he just wagged his tail and sniffed the horses like they were big dogs. Also, there was a pack of 8 dogs at the barn as well and he joined right in like it was nothing. He is definitely great with other dogs. Lastly, Chase got neutered on Thursday so he is now all ready for his forever home!!!
