Miss Candy was the most seasoned dog in the class tonight. Everything we worked on, she knew! Sit, stand, come, her name- we couldn't stump her! She even started showing off with foster mommy Nicola by jumping up on a bench and doing "paw"! She's a vocal dog and was ready for more, more, more treats! Hopefully over the next few weeks we will teach her something new, or else she'll be teaching all the other dogs how to be perfectly trained! What will they need me for?? :)

Candy's fave exercise tonight was "handling"- when I examine the dogs all over to make sure they are ok being touched everywhere. During that time, I got smothered with kisses! Candy is very well trained, already knowing so many things from her previous life before the SPCA. Her foster mom adores her, and she's good with the other dogs in the class. This spunky girl may have some gray, but she's far from old!
Candy was her usual vocal self this class, although the "find it" game kept her very busy and therefore quiet! Foster mom Nicola says she doesn't bark at home, which is good. Guess she saves it all for class! Stay, sit, come, no problemo for this smart girl! Walking on a leash is another story and something we are really focusing on for Candy- within no time she'll be doing that great, no doubt!
Candy graduated class yesterday! By the end she was the only female dog in the class and she showed all the boy just what girls can do! Why this dog isn't adopted yet is beyond me! She's great in the car, housetrained, good with dogs and cats and already has her commands down pat. She's read for her Canine Good Citizen test so adopt her today and get her certified!
