Bear

Bear is a take charge kinda' dog in class. If another dog has too much fun, Bear barks and insists they calm down. He likes a calm environment and I can't say I blame him! He enjoys treat training and soon enough we will teach him something new :) He already knew everything we covered in the first class- like sit, his name and came. Stand was probably a new concept, but he got that with ease. His foster mom Sue had fun with him, and Bear had fun for sure! Check back weekly for his progress, or better yet adopt him and bring him yourself for only $10!

Chase

Chase came to training and finally came out of his shell. He is so happy to get out of the SPCA, where he is reserved and scared all the time. A volunteer, his foster mom and handler Kendall is really stepping up to the plate for him so he can find a great home. At training class he caught on quickly to clicker training, but just wanted more to be pet and to play. Check back weekly for updates about how he's doing with Kendall in foster care and his training progress.

Goldie

Little Goldie is a little princess. She is very responsive to training and loves, loves, loves treats and doesn't mind doing a little work to earn them. Her handler, SPCA volunteer Kristen, had a ton of fun helping Goldie learn the in's and out's of clicker training, and our little Goldie caught on quickly! She's doing great working close to the other dogs, but doesn't like them in her personal space. I hope to get some great pictures of her soon so check back weekly!

Major

What is there to say about Major except- WOW!!!!!!!! What a STELLAR dog!!! Nothing rattles this boy...he is calm, doesn't jump up, he never barks, he never reacted to any of the dogs in class, and I think he actually had a calming effect on some of the more energetic dogs! His handler and SPCA volunteer Sarah couldn't believe how this dog, a dog that's a jumping bean in his kennel, could be so chill...he was attentive, easy to train and very responsive to getting pets as praise. He's food motivated, but likes a good cuddle session over anything else. This dog could probably pass the CGC test today, but we'll keep him working to make SURE he passes when the time comes.

Candy

Miss Candy was the most seasoned dog in the class tonight. Everything we worked on, she knew! Sit, stand, come, her name- we couldn't stump her! She even started showing off with foster mommy Nicola by jumping up on a bench and doing "paw"! She's a vocal dog and was ready for more, more, more treats! Hopefully over the next few weeks we will teach her something new, or else she'll be teaching all the other dogs how to be perfectly trained! What will they need me for?? :)

Mitchell

Mitchell was a great, responsive dog tonight in training with Regina, his handler and an SPCA staff member. Everyone's grown to love Mitch because he's always smiling and looking happy to see you. He was listening well and enjoyed learning some new things, like how to "stand" on command! He didn't bark once and stayed happy and joyful the whole hour. Check back weekly for his progress, or better yet, come meet him and take him home! You can bring him to class for only $10!

Ernie

Ernie did great at class tonight! We worked on name recognition, sit, come, stand and some exercises just for fun too! Ernie aims to please and listens really well, even in really distracting environments with lots of people talking and dogs barking. He's great in the car and is a really mellow, go-with-the-flow dog. He is a big lap dog, who would love nothing more than a loving home. His handler (and SPCA staff member Keith) was very impressed by how good and easy Ernie was to work with tonight. He'll be learning a lot in classes and is sure to graduate with honors!
